The Shree Shubh Labh Yantra is a 24 carat gold plated yantra built around two words every Indian trader knows: Shubh (auspicious) and Labh (profit). It is kept in shops, offices and homes, often near the entrance or the cash counter.
In popular tradition, Shubh and Labh are the sons of Lord Ganesha, which is why their names are written on either side of the swastika at doorways and on account books during Diwali. Keeping this yantra carries that custom forward, with the wish that money comes in by fair means and brings good with it.
Shopkeepers place it before opening a new counter, traders keep it near the gallah (cash box), and families keep it by the main door or in the puja ghar. It goes well with Ganesha puja on Wednesdays and Lakshmi Ganesh puja at Diwali.
