Surya (Sun)

Signs people link with a weak Surya

Astrologers connect the Sun with self-confidence, your father, bosses, government work and how much respect you get for your effort. When Surya is weak or afflicted, people often describe feeling overlooked at work, low on self-belief, or stuck in friction with authority figures. Ruby (Manik) is the classical gemstone, but it is a strong stone and should only be worn after a chart check.

Picking the right Surya remedy

For the home or office

The Surya Yantra is a good first step. Place it facing east, since that is where the Sun rises. On Sundays, light a diya in front of it and chant the beej mantra 108 times: Om Hraam Hreem Hraum Sah Suryaya Namah.

For daily wear

A Tiger's Eye Bracelet is the stone our customers pick most for the Sun, and it is what people wear before interviews and big meetings. If your Moon sign is Simha, the Leo Rashi Bracelet is made for you.

If your mulank is 1

Anyone born on the 1st, 10th, 19th or 28th has mulank 1, ruled by Surya. The Numerology 1 Bracelet includes Sunstone. The Royal Leader Kit (Number 1) groups the number 1 pieces together if you'd like more than a bracelet.

A simple Sunday routine

Start wearing your bracelet on a Sunday morning, after a bath. Many families also offer water to the rising Sun from a copper lota, which is the oldest Surya upaay there is and costs nothing. If you aren't sure Surya is the issue, the Navagraha Remedies page explains how to check. For number-based options, see Numerology Number 1, and for work-focused pieces, Career and Success.
