Your rashi may not be your newspaper star sign

In Vedic astrology, your rashi is the sign the Moon was in when you were born. The horoscope column in the newspaper uses the Sun sign, which depends only on your birth date in the Western calendar. The two often don't match. Plenty of people who call themselves Leo find out their kundli says Kark or Kanya rashi. Our Rashi bracelets follow the Vedic Moon sign.

How to find your rashi

You need your date, exact time and place of birth. Open your kundli and look for "Rashi" or "Chandra Rashi" on the first page. The Moon changes sign a little over every two days, so birth month alone can't tell you. If you don't have a kundli, an astrologer on the AstroSutraa app can work it out from your details.
