Sade Sati, Dhaiya and a heavy Shani: where to start

Shani is the judge among the grahas. It rewards patience and honest work, and it tests people who cut corners. Sade Sati is the roughly seven and a half years when Saturn moves over the signs before, on and after your Moon sign. Dhaiya is a shorter two and a half year phase. Both are known for delays, extra responsibility and slow progress. They also tend to leave people more disciplined, so most astrologers treat the period as something to manage. Blue Sapphire (Neelam) is Shani's gem, but it is famously strong and should never be worn without an expert check.

A Saturday routine most pandits suggest

Light a mustard oil diya on Saturday evening. Chant Om Praam Preem Praum Sah Shanaischaraya Namah 108 times, ideally on a Karungali mala. Visit a Hanuman temple, because Hanuman worship is traditionally believed to ease Shani; the Panch Mukhi Hanuman Yantra lets you keep that practice at home. Helping labourers or donating black til and urad are long-standing Shani upaay.
