Description

The Shani Yantra is a 24 carat gold plated yantra dedicated to Shani Dev, the planet Saturn in Vedic astrology. It is kept in the puja ghar or workplace as a Shani remedy.

Shani is the karma graha. Jyotish links him with discipline, hard work, patience, delay and justice. He moves slowly and his periods test people, which is why Sade Sati (the seven and a half years when Saturn passes over your Moon sign), Shani dhaiya and Shani mahadasha are so widely discussed. People going through these periods, and those whose rashi is Makar (Capricorn) or Kumbh (Aquarius), often keep a Shani Yantra.

The tradition around Shani is less about fear and more about honest work, respect for elders and workers, and patience. The yantra becomes the Saturday focus for that, with a sesame oil diya and the Shani mantra.
