Description

The Karungali Bracelet is made of dark Karungali wood beads. Karungali is the Tamil name for ebony, and the wood has long been used in South Indian devotional practice, especially by devotees of Lord Murugan.

In tradition, Karungali is linked with Mangal (Mars) and with Lord Murugan, the god of courage, who is closely tied to Mars in Tamil belief. It is worn for grounding, steadiness and focus, and many people use it as a small prayer bracelet to count a mantra or to hold during meditation. Shiva devotees wear it as well.

The beads are plain and dark, and the design is unisex, so it works with office clothes, a veshti or a gym t-shirt alike. Because it is natural wood, it needs to be kept dry and away from soap and chemicals. Wear it to the temple, during your morning puja or simply every day as a reminder of your sankalp (personal vow).
