Description

The Karungali Rudraksha Mala (Silver Tone) mixes dark Karungali wood beads with textured Rudraksha beads, finished with decorative metal accents in a silver-tone colour. The accents are described by appearance only; no precious-metal purity is claimed.

Each of the two materials has its own tradition. Rudraksha is Lord Shiva's bead, used for Om Namah Shivaya japa across India. Karungali, or ebony, comes from South Indian practice and is worn by Murugan devotees for courage and steadiness. Since Murugan is Shiva's son, the two are often kept together, and this mala lets you wear both at once.

It is a good pick for people who do daily japa, visit temples often, or want one mala for both prayer and regular wear. Men and women both wear it.

Benefits

In Shiva and Murugan tradition, this mala is worn to:

  • Support daily Om Namah Shivaya japa
  • Feel grounded and steady, as Karungali is known for
  • Seek protection from both Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan
  • Keep up a regular habit of prayer and sankalp
  • Wear one mala for both temple and everyday use
How to wear · mantra & affirmation
  1. Start on a Monday morning after bath, sitting facing east.
  2. Offer water or a bel leaf to a Shivling or picture of Lord Shiva if you can.
  3. Chant Om Namah Shivaya 108 times, moving one bead for each chant.
  4. Wear the mala around your neck, or keep it in your puja ghar for daily japa.
  5. Keep the Rudraksha, wood and metal parts dry. Remove before bathing or swimming.
  6. Avoid soap, perfume and detergents, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth.

Mantra: Om Namah Shivaya

ॐ नमः शिवाय

Chant 108 times (one mala). The Panchakshari (five-letter) mantra to Lord Shiva, the deity of Rudraksha.

Affirmation: I keep my practice every day. I stay calm and steady in whatever comes.

Auspicious day

Monday. Monday (Somvar) is Lord Shiva's day and fits the Rudraksha in this mala; a Shravan Monday is considered especially good. Tuesday (Mangalvar) is also meaningful for the Karungali and Murugan side of the tradition.

Disclaimer

This mala is a devotional accessory. Its benefits come from Shiva and Murugan tradition and personal faith, not from science, and each person's experience is different. It is not a substitute for professional advice; natural Rudraksha and ebony beads vary in shade and texture, and the silver-tone accents are decorative.
